Our Motive
As We All Know That Nishan Sahib Is The Name Of The Triangular Sikh Flag Which Marks All The Gurdwaras And Other Religious Complexes Of Sikhs. Thus In The Sikh Tradition Nishan Sahib Means “Holy Flag” Which Represents The Values Of Sikhism. Nishan Sahib Symbolizes The Inherent Values Of Sikhism – One God, Equality Of All Human Beings, Life Of Love And Respect, Service And Dedication, Sign Of Victory Etc.
Nishan Sahib Represents The Sikh Community All Over The World And All Sikhs Respect And Honour Nishan Sahib With Full Dignity. All The Religious Programs Related To The Sikh Community Are Started At The Patronage Of Nishan Sahib. This Include Nagarkirtan, Religious Ceremonies And All Kinds Of Religious Programs, Which Are Held During The Time Of Gurpurab.
It Is True That Everything In The World Has A Price, But When That Thing Gets A Religious Place, It Become Price Less. Similarly, When Nishan Sahib Is Covered With A Cloth Of Kesari Colour And Then The Cover Of That Cloth Is Respected In The Sikh Community.
Despite All This, It Was Seen Many Times When The Sacred Chola Sahib Of Nishan Sahib Was Not Changed At The Right Time It Gets Faded Or Torned.
Therefore, Keeping All These Things In Mind And With The Blessings Of Waheguru Ji, The Nishan Sahib Sevadar Team Was Established In 1995 After Offering Ardaas In Front Of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
In The Year 1995, The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Served For The First Time To Replace Chola Sahib Of Nishan Sahib With The Local Gurdwara Sahib, Gurdwara DDA Flats And Gurdwara Govind Puri Extension Kalka Ji, In Their Area. Today With The Blessings Of Sahib Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Is Performing Free Service Of Changing Chola Sahib In Delhi And In Gurudwaras Located In Delhi NCR Like Gurgaon And Faridabad. It Includes Historical Gurudwaras Such As Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, Gurdwara Majnu Ka Tila Sahib, Gurdwara Nanak Piau Sahib, Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Gurudwara Damdama Sahib And Gurdwara Moti Bagh Sahib. There Are About 45 To 50 Gurdwaras In Delhi And Delhi NCR. Along With This, The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Also Serves To Put Lights On Nishan Sahib. It Is A Matter Of Pride That In 11 Historic Gurdwaras Of Delhi, A New Light Installation Service Has Been Completed By The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Over Nishan Sahib.
With The Blessings Of Sahib Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Is Also Going To Many Historical Gurdwaras In Punjab And Performing The Service Of Installation Of Lights Over Nishan Sahib. These Include Gurdwara Fateh Garh Sahib, Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup, Gurdwara Kothari Sahib, Gurdwara Babe Nanaki (Puranik), Gurdwara Sultan Pur Lodhi And Takhat Shri Damdama Sahib (Sabo Ki Talwandi) Etc.
Today, The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Consists Of 25 To 27 Sewadar, Who Takes The Time Every Sunday Morning To Go To Various Gurdwaras And Perform The Service Of Changing The Chola Sahib Of Nishan Sahib.
As The Gurbani Of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib States That Everyone Should Bow Or Bow Lowly And Pray Before The Supreme Father God (Waheguru Ji) For The Benefit Of Each Other.
Sadh Sangat Requests That You All Pray To Guru Maharaj Ji For The Nishan Sahib Sevadar Team That Waheguru Ji Should Maintain His Kindness On All The Sevadars And Continue To Give Us The Opportunity To Do Their Service By Giving Us Their Blessings.
“Birthi Kade Na Hovei Jan Ki Ardaas
Nanak Jor Gobind Ka Puran Gunn Taas”
Along With This, The Nishan Sahib Sewadar Team Motivates Childrens To Get Involved With Gurbani And Shabad-Kirtan. For Which, From Time To Time, Shabad-Kirtan Darbar And Kavi Darbar Are Organized For Children Only In Gurdwara Gobind Puri Extension. To Encourage Children, Prizes Are Given To The Children Who Attend The Event.
With The Blessings Of Waheguru Ji, A Kirtan Group Of Children Has Been Formed In The Gobind Puri Extension Colony Today, Not Only In The Gurdwara Gobind Puri Extension, But These Children Go To Big Religious Events And Sing The Word-Kirtan And Get Blessings From Sangat.
